Pinellas Hope Update

On Thursday, July 15th, we served a wonderful dinner at Pinellas Hope. Once dinner was completed, we had an informal, interactive Bible study developed from a sign as you enter Pinellas Hope. The sign reads, “This ain’t Home Sweet Home – Adjust”. Pastor Bill discussed many people in the Bible who had lived in tents, and in closing we all heard again that even if we live in a house, this is not our “home”. Only belief in Jesus Christ provides us with a heavenly home. As usual, there is much welcomed interaction between Pastor Bill and residents of Pinellas Hope. We were joined by the wonderful youth from Pathways Church who, due to the pouring rain, took trays of food through the rain to the main tent so residents did not need to stand outside in order to get their food. Thanks goes out to the CBC members who provided the food, members who went to Project Hope to serve, Pathways youth, and the residents for letting us into their lives.

JUNE 27TH - ONE WEEK ONLY

On Sunday, June 27th, our worship will be at 6:30 PM at the Women’s Club. In order to reach out and help the community in which we live, we will meet at Boyd Hill Nature Trail in St. Petersburg for a “work day” from 9:00 AM – noon.

Meeting Location: We need everyone else to arrive no later than 9:00 am. Please travel south on 37th Street South and turn right on 34th Avenue. Follow that to a dead end and we will meet you there.

The Clam Bayou House is actually located at: 4240 35th Ave South but they stated to find the house on your on is hard since it is down a dirt road and off the main path.

Project that we will be working on: We will be mulching, weeding, trimming, removing trash, etc at the home. We might also work on the small beach area near the home to clean/clear it of seaweed.

What to bring: The city will provide most of the supplies… they will even have gloves, however, if you wish to bring your own gloves that is fine. They also encouraged us to bring hand sheers/pruners, wheel barrel or wagon to help haul away trash. They have most of these items but extra is always good just in case.

They stated that we will be working around The Clam Bayou House, just as if we were working in our own yard to get it in shape.

We need at least 50 people to attend in order to get the work done! Sure hope we will get a good number of volunteers.

What not to wear: Flip flops or open toed shoes… We must wear close toed shoes!

Meet Bryant Eubanks

As we continue our search for a permanent youth director, we are blessed to have our own Bryant Eubanks home from college for the summer. Bryant’s major is Christian Education with a focus on Student Ministry at Baptist College of Florida in Graceville. He will be actively working with our youth this summer and will be having Bible studies, along with mission and other fun activities planned for our youth group.
