Lent [day 25]… [Wednesday, 9 March 2016]

I can hardly wait for Good Friday

St Pete Vineyard, Cornerstone, Affirmation Ballet [and others] will be joining together to present “A NIGHT OF HOPE Worship Experience”…

Worship, dance and art…

Celebrating Jesus from beginning to end…

Thank you Ariel, Josh, Stacy and Jordan for leading worship…

Thank you Andrea and ABC for worshiping through dance…

THANK YOU to everyone who is coming together for this special night…

What a joy to serve Jesus with Pastor Chris…

This will be a night to remember — please JOIN US at 7:30 pm on Good Friday

We will also share the Lord’s Supper together as an act of worship…

Our focus at the Table will be on Jesus’ cry from the “Place of Crushing” [the Garden of Gethsemane]: “My Abba, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will…”

How real and present is this ongoing conflict between our will and Abba’s will?

I know it is for me… The battle rages… An ongoing struggle…

Jesus was fully surrendered…

Me, not so much…

Jesus’ heart craved his Abba’s pleasure…

Me, not so much…

Jesus heard his Father’s “NO” and JOYFULLY embraced the suffering becoming our way, our truth and our life…

Me, I’m not all that good with “NO” when everything in me is screaming “YES”!

Please accept my personal invitation to join us at the Table of Surrender on Good Friday… Even more, please accept Abba’s invitation to come — he has spread a sumptuous table for us — for you and me…

Reflect with me tonight on our Lenten journey…

WHAT CUP WOULD YOU RATHER NOT DRINK?

At what point do you scream out: MY will NOT Yours be done?

Your battle tonight? Your struggle? What are you clenching in your fist tonight [refusing to LET GO]?

Can we be as honest as Jesus was about our inner struggle?

Jesus did NOT hide — can we come out of hiding?

Victory and obedience become possible when we forsake denial and get honest with God [and one another]…

I love what Alicia Britt Chole says: “Honesty is a friend of intimacy with God and, conversely, denial is an enemy of intimacy with God…”

Let’s OPEN OUR HAND NOW in surrender…

Blessings!!!
